About
My name is Gabriel Gorry. I have a bachelors and a masters degree at Université de Montréal. I have experience with many client groups (children, teens, parents, couples, families, and people experiencing: loss of autonomy, mental health challenges, anxiety, depression, addiction, homelessness, palliative care, etc.). I’ve had the privilege of supporting many people in feeling better. I bring a well-stocked toolbox to help you build your own and create change. I see the strengths and capacities within you and your environment and help you mobilize them to feel better. My aim is both to help you develop a clearer picture of what is happening in your life, and to support you in developing concrete tools to face your difficulties.
Goal: to create a safe space to clarify, understand, and act. I work on issues such as anxiety, relationships, life transitions, burnout, and self-confidence.

FAQ
What happens in a first session?
I will introduce myself and invite you to explain what brings you here. From the very first meeting, I’ll support you toward a clearer understanding of your situation and a sense of hope that you can act on it. We will also clarify your request and goals and agree on a support plan.
Will I have to wait eight or ten sessions before seeing changes?
Everyone progresses at their own pace. However, I place importance on helping you move toward concrete changes—even small ones—from the beginning. From there, you can discover your strength and go further, like a snowball effect!
Why a social worker (TS) rather than a psychologist?
Mental health, wellbeing, and happiness do not depend only on your inner capacities. They also result from how you interact with your family, friends, work, and community. Developing better personal capacities matters, but your ability to mobilize the resources around you matters just as much. We will therefore work on both so you can truly move toward your goals. Should the need for a more specialized psychological intervention arise, I will support you in undertaking this process.
Is confidentiality assured?
The confidentiality framework is explained from the outset and respected.
How often do you recommend sessions?
According to your needs: weekly at first, then every 2–3 weeks depending on your preferences, needs, and our agreement.
What guides your clinical approach?
Various approaches and intervention tools nourish my practice: - Motivational and solution-oriented approach - Humanistic approach - Nonviolent Communication - Eco-systemic approach - Elements and tools drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - Elements and tools drawn from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy - Mindfulness and Self-Compassion
